Toyota to launch six new hybrid cars
The Wall Street Journal reported that two would be luxury brand Lexus models and four would be Toyota vehicles.
Rival Nissan's Leaf electric car is due in the US and Japan later this year, and Honda is to start selling electric cars in those markets in 2012.
As well as the new hybrid models, which run on petrol and electricity, Toyota will also unveil a fully electric version of its RAV4 sports utility vehicle later this year, the spokesman said.
The model, developed with its US partner Tesla, will be revealed at the Los Angeles auto show in late November.

It has been the top seller in Europe for sometime now but now South Africa leading pickup magazine "Bakkie & Truck Action magazine" has declared Nissan Navara 2.5 DCI 4x4 as the Best Bakkie for 2007. European magazines are not far behind in extolling Navara - the Nissan Navara has been voted the ‘Pick-Up of the Year’ for the second year running in 4x4 magazine's 2007 awards. Rick Carroll, 4x4’s editor, commented: “The Navara is simply the best. ... The reasons are simple: Nissan’s Navara provides the best combination of working truck practicality with everyday driving involvement. A strong, torque turbo diesel, bold but not outlandish styling and a comfy interior scored higher than its rivals can match.”
Nissan’s Navara was the best-selling pick-up in Ireland, UK and Europe in 2006. It commanded an incredible 25 per cent of the European market for pick-ups. Navara unseated pickup segment leader Isuzu Dmax in 2006 and claimed 41.2% percent of the market relegating DMax to a distant second. Mitsubishi Triton's recent introduction may change the market dynamics even further. T

Import a Ten years old vehicle [Blue Permit] with a Registered Japanese car Dealer Autolink Japan
Sri Lankan who has gone abroad and earns foreign exchange under a valid visa can now to gift a vehicle to his parents, and immediate family members. This is a unique opportunity for Auto Link Japan users as you can import a vehicle upto ten years old.1. Type of vehicles allowed to be imported under this scheme
Cars, Jeeps, Vans, or Cabs not older than 10 years. There is no restriction of models and makes.
A. If the vehicle that you wish to import is under 5years; the vehicle should have been registered in the name of applicant at least for a period of one year. If the vehicle is within 5-10 years old, the vehicle should have been registered in the name of applicant at least for 3 years. This is a general condition of this scheme.
2. Type of vehicles that are not allowed to be imported under this scheme;
A. (a) Vehicles are older than 10 years.
(b) Left hand driven vehicles

E. Photocopies of the Visa pages, photograph page of the applicant, and the page having endorsement of leaving the country / arrival to the country of the pass port.
f. Vehicle inspector certificate.
